Overview
The name of this suite comes from the Siennese Fabio Chigi (1599-1667). He became the 237th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church in 1655 under the name of Alessandro VII until his death in 1667. He was a member of the notable family of the Chigi, who were famous Tuscan bankers. On the façade, under one of the windows there is still the papal coat of arms belonging to Pope Alessandro VII with the keys of St. Peter in Rome.
He often stayed in this building when he came to visit Siena.
With two double bedrooms, the Pope Alessandro VII room is like a small apartment
that can accommodate four people. As well as the spaces designated for sleeping, there is also a cozy room for chilling out, reading, drinking wine etc…
The furnishing is in shabby chic style with old maps and prints at the walls.
The room comes complete with a private bathroom paved with ancient green tiles, two basins, a bidet, a toilet and a shower. The floor as well is characterized by ancient tiles recently discovered.
